My artistic research is about intangible contemporary jewellery. I rethink it using the most diverse media, which I do not fit under glass showcases. Wearing and experiencing (the relationship in the body, on the body, with and between bodies) is important to me.
In my performance “RINGING II”, the semantic load is focused on the action between life, death, authority/power, “finger of God”. However, all this is very fragile, because it is temporary. The death of a flower, the life and joy of a jewellery ring is like a story repeating itself in a circle. Similar to our human condition. We encounter and experience the sacred connection in this performance. In the Lithuanian language, word for “a flower’s blossom” is the same as word for “a finger-ring” (žiedas). The flower ring, like the jewelry ring, has geometrical and semantic aspects that evoke a sense of power and at the same time delicacy that demands public recognition, which, when divided equally, results in ringing.
