Love stories move and inspire us. Objects encapsulate the precious moments we shared with our darlings, the promises made, the voices or memories that keep returning. Objects we carry, wear, present or share, and in particular jewelry, are crystallizations of our emotions, desires, hopes, heart aches, tears, maturity.
By revealing the story behind the objects we can make contact with the art lover’s yearning to find in our work, in our creations, the emotional situation we cannot express in words.
SMCK ON REEL ❤ SHORT MOVIES ABOUT LOVE & OBJECTS invited artists and designers to direct and produce short videos on love and their favorite objects.
The artists' videos form an amalgam of the multiple facets of love: they talk about happiness and fragility, passion and adversity, infatuation and disappointment, separation and return, death and existence, spirituality and union, and prove jewelry's storytelling power. The medium video is the best way to make the audience understand hidden and charming facets of the artist's work and life philosophy, and it boosts the artist's creative profile like no other medium.
Sixteen videos are nominated for the SMCK ON REEL Video Awards. Vote your favorite video! Voting is possible on 6 March 2026, from 00:01 am until 12:00 pm (CET). See more information below.

Sixteen videos were nominated for two SMCK ON REEL Video Awards: the Jury Award and the Audience Award. Two award winners will enjoy a four-day intensive residency program in Athens, Greece, including a customized program on art, craft, and jewelry.
It was not an easy task to decide which one of the fabulous videos should get the SMCK ON REEL Jury Award 2026.
After a very long meeting, the jury came to the following conclusion:
„The protective, yet uninviting, space of a shelter becomes the hosting place of an exhibition that addresses grief, while teaching the artist how to overcome it. "Spirit Dog" by Nitzan Mileguir (Israel) is the documentation of the artist’s installation on the theme „Broken Heart“, and a meticulously conducted study on how space serves a narrative.
We think that Mileguir’s work can set an example of excellence in times when many jewelry exhibitors seem to have forgotten what a good exhibition looks like.
Mileguir’s work embraces the „periphery“ of the artistic creation: space, furniture, exhibition design, lighting, filming, statement, graphics and communication, and creates a stage on which the tragedy can be re-experienced and the catharsis can finally take place."
Congratulations, Nitzan Milegiur, for winning the Jury Award! The jury members were: Christoph Ziegler (SMCK Publisher), Loukia Richards (SMCK Editor-in-Chief), Priscilla Katz (Senior Editor), Tom Wurm (Junior Editor), and Christina Panagiotopoulou (Visual Content Consultant).
The winner of the Jury Award: "Spirit Dog" by Nitzan Mileguir
Next to the Jury Award, SMCK Magazine gives Honorable Mentions to Ashgan Waked (Israel) and Rimma Matevosyan (Russia/Armenia).
We will present interviews with both artists, as well as their work, in the next issue of SMCK Magazine (May 2026); and screen their videos in Athens (Greece) and Pforzheim (Germany).
In her enigmatic, cryptic and highly inspirational video Ashgan Waked combined symbols, cultural elements, innuendos on immortal and mortal love, jewelry and animation, while Rimma Matevisian’s tender and enchanting performance gave the account of her own love story while paying tribute to the great Armenian film director and artist Sergei Parajanov.
Congratulations to Ashgan Waked and Rimma Matevosyan!
Voting for the Audience Award was possible during the video screening at Galerie Handwerk / SCHMUCK Munich Jewelry Week 2026, via Instagram, and via this website.
The winner of the Audience Award is "The Urgent Need to Keep Creating" by Roberto & Victoria (Victoria Aroca, Spain). Congratulations Victoria!
