"Wrecking globe" is a series of hand objects made of borax crystals cultured in a brass structure I have made. I added chains with small metal balls, a miniature version of the heavy steel balls that were used to demolish buildings until the 1970s. When the objects swivel, the metal balls hit the crystals violently, and break them.
The sound of the crystals being shattered by metal balls reminds us of icebergs clatter just before sinking into the ocean.
