SAY IT WITH A HAIKU

Participate with your poem in SMCK Magazine & Schmuck Munich Jewelry Week 2025!

SMCK Magazine invites jewelry artists and designers to sum up their work, experience, dreams or emotions by writing a short poem

––  APPLY BY 24 JANUARY 2025  ––

SMCK Magazine's project JEWELRY POEMS unites the daring beauty of contemporary jewelry with the elegance of short, yet strong and meaningful, poems comprised of freely associated words.

This telegraphic style of poetry - one to three lines, no rhythm and no conclusion - is called "haiku" in Japan. Haiku poems, a popular cultural form, can be described as sketching with words, making music with syllables, creating images with letters. Haiku poetry reflects the ephemeral turning into eternity, reality into surreality, human condition into nature.

JEWELRY POEMS is the artist’s message to the jewelry community coming to Munich for its annual Schmuck/Munich Jewelry Week meeting.

SMCK Magazine will publish artists’ poems along with a photo of their work, statement and bio/weblink in its coming print/digital/online issue.

SMCK Magazine issue No.11 titled „Made in Germany“ is coming out in February 2025. The new SMCK issue will be presented and artists' poems will be recited in Galerie Handwerk on Friday 14 March 2025 and in Galerie Weltraum on Saturday 15 March 2025 during Schmuck Munich Jewelry Week 2025.

SMCK Magazine online and digital format is available free of charge worldwide. Read and download the >>> flipbook and >>> digital magazine (PDF) of SMCK issue #10 >>> Schmuck On The Go!
